Community College

Program Types & Length of Program

  • Post-graduate certificates (1 year)
  • Certificates (8 months–1 year)
  • Associate's degrees (2 years)
Other types of programs available at some colleges only:

University Transfer (2 years)—spend up to 2 years in a college and transfer directly into 3rd year at a university.

Cost

Community College tuition is usually more affordable than university, although some specialized programs may cost more.

Opportunities During Your Studies

CPT (Curricular Practical Training)*

Students may be allowed to work, for limited hours, off-campus. The work must be directly related to the student’s major/field of studies.

Opportunities After Graduation

Work in your home country

Secure a position in an industry related to your studies. Your international education and language experience will open up opportunities to work in positions with an international focus.

OPT (Optional Practical Training) in the USA*

Student may be able to work in the USA for 12 months, full-time, after graduation. Work must be directly related to the student's major.
